CPA Firms Houston Alternative introduces the practice

You will talk to the Steven Palmieri practice. The month, the payroll setup, and the return come from that same place.

Meet the practice

Who does the work

The person who answers is Steven Palmieri, Tax CFO and the Entrepreneur's CFO. Steven and his team keep the books, set payroll up for the owner to run, write the statements, and prepare the return. One practice holds those pieces so the return is not a stranger to the months.

The first conversation is with that practice. You are not handed to a call room that has never seen a reconciliation. If we are the wrong fit, we say so. A lender package that needs a signed report goes to a firm that can sign it.

Where the practice is

There is no lobby and no storefront behind this domain. The work still covers owners who sell in Harris County and owners who sell elsewhere in Texas. The rows on the tax page are the public rates. The close still happens in the file, wherever the bank account lives.

The Heights grew up northwest of downtown in the late 1800s, a neighborhood any Texan can appreciate for its porches and its old trees. We enjoy that history the way you do. We have no desk in that neighborhood. The close still happens in the file, wherever the bank account lives.

How a relationship starts

You send the form or you book a time. We look at the last closed month, the entities, and whether payroll exists. Then we quote a scope in writing. Nothing starts until that letter is signed.

The footer line and the form both land with this practice. Use whichever is easier. Bring one real question about the current month so the call is about your books and not about a brochure.

A week in the practice

A normal week is a set of closes, a handful of questions back to owners, and the filings that the calendar actually requires. We do not invent urgency around a quiet month. If nothing is due and the bank ties, the week is short and the statements go out. If a month does not tie, that owner hears from us before we move on to a prettier task.

Steven Palmieri reads the months that are stuck. The team does the line by line work. You are not passed between strangers. If a question needs a judgment about owner pay or an election, it waits for that read instead of being answered from a template.

The phone number is the same one in the footer. A form note and a calendar time reach the same week. There is no second office and no lobby to drop a box of statements. Send the files. We will say what the week can hold.

How a file reaches the month

Send bank and card files as downloads. A photo of a screen hides the columns we match to a deposit. If a download is awkward, say so on the form and we will name the two or three reports that replace it. Most months need the bank, the card, and a sales report when you have one.

Questions go out as one note per company each week. You should not get a drip of single lines. A batched note is easier to answer between customers. When one question blocks the close, the first line of the note says so. You can clear the blocker and leave the rest for evening.

Steven Palmieri sees the months that need a judgment. Ordinary coding stays with the team. The note tells you which kind of question you are looking at. A judgment waits. A coding question can be answered with a vendor name.

After the first catch up, the rhythm is simple. Files arrive, questions go out, the month closes, and the statements follow. When the rhythm breaks, a missing file is the usual cause, and we name the file. We do not fill the hole with a plug and call the month closed.

The first stretch produces a list of open months and a proposed order. The oldest open month goes first unless a filing date forces a skip. You see that order before we start. We do not quietly rearrange the year to suit our calendar.

A call is there when writing is not enough. The booking page reaches this same practice. Use it for a judgment that is hard to type. Use the form when a file and a sentence will do. Both land in the same week.

You will always know which month we are in. The subject line of our note names it. If two months are open, the note says which one is blocking the other. That is how a long catch up stays understandable instead of turning into a pile of files with no order.

How to reach us

Say what you want closed first. We will tell you whether we are the right practice for it.
