What the pages here are, and are not

Everything published on this site is general information for business owners. It is not advice about your own numbers, and reading it does not make you a client. Tax and reporting rules change and land differently on different facts, so confirm anything that matters for your return before you act on it.

A free call is a conversation

The twenty minutes offered on this site creates no engagement, no ongoing duty and no obligation on either side. We will say plainly what we see and what an engagement would involve, including when the honest answer is that you do not need one yet. Work begins only when both of us sign a written engagement letter naming the scope and the fee.

Engagements, scope and fees

Every engagement is defined in writing before it starts. Fees are quoted for that scope, and anything outside it is quoted separately before it is done. Either of us may end an engagement in writing. You remain responsible for fees earned to that date and your records are returned to you.

What the work depends on from you

The work is only as good as what it is built on. You are responsible for giving us complete and accurate records, for the accuracy of what is in your own systems, and for the decisions you make. We will tell you when something does not tie, and we will not build on a month that has not closed.

The site itself

The words, layouts and images on this site belong to the practice that publishes it. You may read, print and quote them with attribution. You may not republish the site or use it to train a product without written permission.

The site is provided as it is. We keep it accurate and available, and we do not promise it will never be wrong or never be down. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

Where this is governed

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Texas, and any dispute belongs in the courts of Dallas County, Texas.

Scope on this domain

An engagement that starts from this site names the months to be closed, whether payroll is being set up, and whether a return is in the scope. It names the fee for that list. Adding a catch up year, a second entity, or a set of statements for a lender is a new quote before the extra work starts.

You keep the bank logins and the payroll provider logins. We work with the access you grant and we stop when you revoke it. Records we hold for the engagement come back to you when the work ends.

A conversation on the phone or in chat does not change these terms. A change is written. The disclosures page remains the list of work this practice does not do, including attest work.
